Egenverk Conversion Relay · Documentation

Getting started

v1.4.0WP 6.5+PHP 7.4+Updated

Conversion Relay connects WooCommerce to ChatGPT Ads: the pixel and purchases are sent only with consent.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.5 or later
  • PHP 7.4 or later
  • WooCommerce
  • A consent tool that supports Cookiebot or the WP Consent API (for the WP Consent API, the WP Consent API plugin is needed as well)

Install

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce and a consent tool.
  2. Install Conversion Relay from Plugins → Add New, or upload the ZIP, and activate it.
  3. Open WooCommerce → Settings → Conversion Relay. Enter your Pixel ID and API key, and choose your consent integration.

You can define the key in wp-config.php instead: define( 'EGENVERK_CONVERSION_RELAY_API_KEY', 'your-key' );. A key defined there, or in an environment variable of the same name, takes precedence over the saved one and is never shown in the admin.

First step

  1. Keep the mode on Validation. Enable measurement and the Conversions API, then press Validate synthetic API event in the Validation & log section. A confirmed result means the key and Pixel ID work.
  2. Place a test order with a payment method in test mode and check that it appears under Delivery status as validated.
  3. When everything checks out, switch the mode to Production, enable the browser pixel and choose the browser events you want. Place a new test order after switching mode: orders from Validation mode are never promoted to Production.

If an OpenAI pixel is already installed another way, for example through Google Tag Manager, remove it before enabling the browser pixel. Conversion Relay refuses to take over a pixel it did not load.
